What is cheerleading?

IMG_7004.JPGForget what you’ve seen on the sidelines, WE ARE THE MAIN EVENT! Competitive, ‘all star’ cheerleading is a sport in its own right, where athletes learn to stunt, dance, jump and tumble as part of a team. Why choose between dance and gymnastics when you can do elements of both and in an all-important team environment?

Cheerleading is very athletic and develops skills for life. It is a recognised sport through Sport Accord (the organisation behind the Olympics). We have our own competitions, including The World Cheerleading championships held in Florida USA each year, where Australia performs very well.

Everybody has the opportunity to play an important role in a cheer team: all ages, all body shapes and sizes, and both male and female athletes are valued. Both your individual and team skills are developed and celebrated.

Sirens Cheerleaders offers competitive teams in cheer and pom (a combination of drill and jazz style dance), as well as recreational, tumbling classes and more.
